How can we contribute to decolonising knowledge?
The project Decolonising knowledge in Switzerland relies on a series of exhibitions organised by Swiss museums in 2024-2025 focussed on colonisation, provenance, restitution, power dynamics and global critical perspectives. It brings together Wikipedians, GLAMs (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) and researchers to enhance open content and open data with the aim of improving articles and data on Wikipedia and the Wikimedia projects.
We support all Wikipedians in accessing information they can use as a reference to amend and integrate articles on Wikipedia and other content on the Wikimedia projects, and at the same time, we offer training opportunities to GLAMs and researchers to learn how to prepare data for Wikipedians and edit articles and other data directly.
