This achievement reflects over six years of tireless volunteer efforts by Karavali Wikimedians and Tulu Wikimedians, who have worked passionately to bring this vision to life.

The Journey to Tulu Wiktionary

The journey to develop Tulu Wiktionary began in August 2018, when Mangalore University introduced the first postgraduate course in Tulu at the University Evening College, Mangaluru. Key contributors, including Dr. Vishwanatha Badikana, late Ravi Munkur, Bharathesha Alasandemajalu, Dr. Pavanaja, Dr. Kishore Kumar Rai Sheni, Yakshitha, and Jyothi Rai, collaborated to create a platform that would enable Tulu speakers, learners, and researchers to explore and document the language’s rich lexicon.
