The countdown to Wikimania 2025 has officially begun! The 20th edition of Wikimania will be celebrated in Nairobi, Kenya from 06–09 August 2025. And why just watch when you can be part of the action? Sound the kudu horn, the call for program proposals is open!
We’re looking for submissions that embody our 2025 theme, “Wikimania@20: Inclusivity. Impact. Sustainability.” Now is the ideal time to have conversations about:
- Inclusivity: How do we create spaces where every person feels seen, heard, and valued to share in the sum of all knowledge? Let’s talk about ways to foster diverse participation, remove barriers, and guarantee accessibility for all.
- Impact: Let’s celebrate our impact and how far we’ve come, recognizing the milestones that have shaped our movement over the last two decades. But let’s also look ahead: How can we build on this momentum to create an even greater impact in the future?
- Sustainability: How do we make sure our movement not only lasts but thrives for the long run? Let’s talk about what it takes to create a lasting impact, support the next generations of Wikimedians, and keep our projects going strong for years on end.
Ready to share your insights and inspire your fellow Wikimedians? Apply now to lead a workshop, host a panel, present a poster, or showcase a tool demonstration among others. Whether you prefer to speak in person, virtually, or in a hybrid format, we welcome your proposal.
