The EduWiki Hub Starter Kit Arrives in Spanish

The EduWiki Hub’s Newcomer’s Starter Kit, the education movement’s guide to teaching and learning with Wikimedia, is now available in Spanish. The translation was done by Patricia Aguilar, a Wikimedian from Mexico.

The Starter Kit was first launched in May 2026 during a multilingual orientation session with participants from across the movement. It was built to help educators, learners, and volunteers turn open knowledge into practice, combining practical guidance with community context.

Aguilar’s translation makes the kit available to Spanish-speaking educators and organizers, removing the need to use it in a second language.

The Spanish edition can support:

• Onboarding volunteers and educators, with guidance on bringing Wikipedia into classrooms and lessons.
• Program planning, as a reference for organizers designing workshops, setting metrics, and aligning with Wikimedia’s community standards.
• Community management, with guidance for coordinators building welcoming, inclusive, and safe spaces for newcomers.
