It is with great joy and excitement to inform everyone that during the CEE Meeting in Instabul, it was announced by the Selection Committee that the next Wikimedia CEE Meeting, will take place in Thessaloniki, Greece! The Wikimedia Community User Group Greece, having submitted a comprehensive and thorough proposal, will undertake the organization of this great event, which is the largest Wikimedia meeting in the region.
The Greek community, with particular emphasis on the development of partnerships with the academic community and the youth, will seek to further strengthen the dialogue and exchange of ideas between the Wikimedians of the wider region. The participation of universities and fellow institutions will be a focal point of the meeting, encouraging the younger generation to actively contribute to the dissemination of free knowledge.
As members of the organizing committee, the Wikimedia User Group Greece and the Greek Wikimedian community, we feel deeply moved and proud that our community has come to the point of being able to host such an important event. This success reflects our collective effort, the zeal and dedication of all our team members. We invite all Wikipedians to have a role, take part, and help in this project!
Preparation for the Wikimedia CEE Meeting 2025 begins immediately, with the aim of presenting an even and unforgettable conference, worthy of the expectations of all participants. Our goal is to offer an event even more upgraded and organized than in previous years, with the aim of promoting the values of the Wikimedia movement and strengthening cooperation between communities.
Thessaloniki, a city with a rich history and cultural heritage, will be the ideal setting for this international meeting, offering participants the opportunity to combine the exchange of knowledge with the exploration of its cultural treasures. We look forward to welcoming all Wikimedians in 2025 to our country for an unforgettable experience!
