♻️ Scribe: leveraging Wikidata for language learning

16 March 2022 @ 18:00 18:50 UTC

♻️ This event is part of the Wikidata Data Reuse Days 2022.

Scribe is an open-source iOS app that uses Wikidata lexicographical data to power keyboards for second language learners. In this session I’ll give a demonstration of Scribe, talk about how it integrates data from Wikidata, and then I’d love to have an open discussion about it. Topics we could discuss include: data we could add to Wikidata and Scribe; new devices Scribe could be ported to; new languages keyboards that could be focussed on; in progress and potential features; my experiences using Wikidata as an app’s data source; and anything else people would like to discuss!
