Time for Change – Action not Words: A Black History Month Panel, hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation

In honor of Black Heritage Month across the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands, this virtual panel (which will be streamed live on YouTube) explores knowledge equity, what it means in the context of Black communities, and actions we can take to advance it.

Speakers include:

Kelly Foster is an open knowledge advocate and public historian. She is also the chapter lead for Creative Commons UK and founding organiser of AfroCROWD UK.

Professor Hakim Adi

Jessica de Abreu is an anthropologist, curator, and activist. She is also a board member at New Urban Collective and co-founder of The Black Archives, both in Amsterdam.

The event is hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation’s Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion team and Black/Pan-African Employee Resource Group. Everyone is welcome to attend.
