Wikimania 2026

Wikimania is the annual conference celebrating all the free knowledge projects hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation – Wikimedia Commons, MediaWiki, Meta-Wiki,Wikibooks, Wikidata, Wikinews, Wikipedia , Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikispecies, Wikiversity, Wikivoyage, Wiktionary, Wikifunctions – with days of conferences, discussions, meetups, training, and workshops. Hundreds of volunteers and Free Knowledge leaders from around the world gather to discuss issues, report on new projects and approaches, and exchange ideas.
Wikimania 2026 will be held in Paris from 21 to 25 July, marking the twenty-first edition of the conference and coinciding with the twenty-fifth anniversary of the earliest Wikipedias. The gathering is envisioned as both a celebration and a call to action, framed around the theme “Liberté, Équité, Fiabilité” — freedom, equity, and reliability. These three words are not decorative; they are intended to anchor the program in the realities of our time.
