Paul Bouaffou: If the Spirit of Ivorian Wikimedia Sharing Had a Name

Since his beginnings in 2018, he has combined passion, perseverance, and expertise to enrich Wikimedia platforms and train the next generation of contributors. In June 2018, Paul (Username:Kod B) attended his first training workshop, titled “Wikimedia Classes”, at the Virtual University of Côte d’Ivoire (UVCI). There, he learned the basics of creating and editing articles on Wikipedia. This first experience marked the beginning of an exceptional journey.

When he’s not editing on Wikipedia, Paul trains other contributors, develops tools related to Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons, and actively participates in writing and documenting cultural and sporting events.

Among the many projects he has contributed to, the Wiki Olympic 2024 project holds a special place. Paul Bouaffou led this initiative with excellence, helping to highlight Ivorian athletes competing in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. He considers this one of his greatest achievements. Another major project is the Wikimedia Club Marathon.
