With 34,000 files uploaded, photographers in Germany were clearly ready to take the Wiki Loves Monuments challenge to photograph the country’s cultural heritage and share the photos freely with the rest of the world. We’re happy to show you three of the top ten finalists here, including the Moritzburg Castle pictured above. Germany’s jury also selected a top 100, which shows just how hard it must have been to pick a winner!
Wiki Loves Monuments is the largest photo contest in the world. The 2012 event had more than 15,000 people uploading over 360,000 photos in 33 countries. You can see all of this year’s finalists here. Make sure to check back for the winners of the international competition tomorrow, 3 December 2012.
