The Wikimedia Foundation today announces the formal appointment of our new trustees, who were voted for in the recent elections. Rosie Stephenson-Goodknight, Victoria Doronina, Dariusz Jemielniak and Lorenzo Losa will be taking their place on the board of trustees with immediate effect. Congratulations to the new trustees!
Thank you also to the 19 candidates who stood and the community volunteers who helped with the elections process. A record 6,873 people from across 214 projects cast their valid votes and this year also saw the first time we have used Single Transferable Vote. You can review the full results on Meta-Wiki, which documents the order in which the candidates were mathematically eliminated. Thank you to everyone who voted – you helped to make this year’s elections one of the most diverse to date!
The new trustees will now begin their work, including working alongside the newly appointed CEO Maryana Iskander. You can find out more about the role of the board and trustees on the Foundation website and there will be various upcoming opportunities for the community to speak with them – including the Conversation with the trustees event on October 20th.
