Hello from Singapore and beyond! We are excited to share with you a quick recap of the second day of Wikimania 2023 and a preview of what to expect for day three. 

AI is on the minds and microprocessors of many right now. The panel discussion, “ChatGPT vs. WikiGPT: Challenges and Opportunities in harnessing generative AI for Wikimedia Projects” saw people from diverse backgrounds discuss the future of Wikimedia projects in the time of generative AI. Shani Evenstein-Sigalov facilitated a panel including Jimmy Wales, Andrew Lih, Netha Hussain, and Galder Gonzalez. You can watch the recording on YouTube

We also saw our first bit of media coverage in Malay of the Wikimedian of the Year with special guests Wikimedian of the Year Taufik Rosman and Eugene Ormandy, Newcomer of the Year. Watch the interview broadcast:
