Before the editathon

Before the editathon, we went to a Kebab restaurant and a book store at Nagoya University. Eugene Ormandy bought a book about Türkiye.

Editing

The venue for the editathon was Central Library of Nagoya University. It is a big library with a lot of books. We looked around and picked up some references, and then, we focused on editing at library’s learning commons from 14:00-17:00 JST.

Results

You can check our results and comments on Metawiki [[Wikimedia Japan-Türkiye Friendship/Editathon in Japan 13 October 2023]].

  • I created an article of Halil Karaduman, a turkish Qanun player on Japanese Wikipedia and added it to Wikidata (Q3125973). Though it was a small editathon, it was fantastic and I could learn a lot. I love to have a conversation with other Wikimedians while editing. I hope someday we hold an editathon in Japan inviting friends in Türkiye. — Eugene Ormandy
  • I created Malatya Ulu Camii, a mosque in Malatya and improved Hürriyet, a major newspaper in Türkiye. It was a great opportunity to learn more about Türkiye. — Takenari Higuchi
