AfroCuisine, an initiative by African & Proud (AP), serves as a continuation of the previous project focused on Nigerian Cuisine. Its primary objective is to document the diverse culinary traditions of Africa and promote them through various platforms such as Wikibooks’ cookbooks, Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and other related projects. This project aims to expand upon the achievements of the pilot project, Nigerian Cuisine, by now encompassing a wider range of African culinary content.
The project which held in Lagos, Nigeria featured training, edit-a-thon, networking and lot of exciting conversations on African cuisines.
AfroCuisine is a project that celebrates the diverse culinary traditions of Africa and aims to document these mouthwatering dishes for the world to savor. Our mission is to showcase the richness of African cuisines on platforms like Wikibooks’ cookbooks, Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and beyond! 📚
The event held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), Alausa, Ikeja and participants were really excited to learn about Wikibook-Cookbooks and were so excited to participate in the contest while also creating contents around African Cuisines. (See Video below)
