The call for proposals for WikidataCon 2023 is now open. Jointly organised by Wikimedia Taiwan and Wikimedia Deutschland, this event will take place both on-site (in Taiwan) and online from the 28th to 29th October 2023.

With the hybrid format, participants from all over the world will be able to simultaneously join the on-site events online. There will be dedicated online sessions for the international community when the events on-site end. As such, we encourage all Wikidata communities to also prepare for satellite events and on-site gatherings.

This conference aims to be a space for meetings and exchanges between different Wikidata communities, including researchers, cultural institutions, linked open data enthusiasts as well as projects that interact with Wikidata on the topics of geographical data, human settlements or local languages that would best fit the following:

  • Data quality
  • Underrepresented languages & culture
  • Data reuse
  • Wikidata and the Wikimedia Projects
  • Others (e.g. Linked Open Data/ Wikibase)

For more information on submission criteria and/or to submit a proposal, kindly visit the call for proposals site. Proposal submission deadline is until July 31st (23:59) anywhere in the world. Proposals will be evaluated by the Program Committee and final decisions will be announced during the month of September.
