As part of Phase 2 of the Movement Strategy in the Africa Great Lakes region, the focus is on leadership and skills development. This involves organizing tailored trainings and workshops beyond existing platforms, ensuring the implementation of a future-focused approach to engage young potential contributors. This is a collective initiative by Wikimedia DRC, Wikimedia Rwanda, and Wikimedia Burundi.

We joined forces to host a transformative Wikidata Training of Trainers (ToT) program in our respective communities. In Rwanda, This workshop was held from October 22 to October 24, 2024, at the Wikimedia Rwanda Offices in Kacyiru, Kigali, this three-day workshop brought together enthusiastic participants eager to deepen their understanding of Wikidata and hone their skills as effective trainers.
