Kiwix4Schools Project in Ghana

Translate This Post

The KIWIX4Schools mini-grant is an Open Foundation West Africa (OFWA) program aimed at providing support for members of the OFWA community who have an interest in deploying KIWIX in Senior High Schools in Ghana.

This is an attempt to empower community members to take initiative and do more than just edit or contribute to Wikipedia. Even more, we’re providing members with an opportunity to sharpen and improve on their soft skills.

Although there were limited number of slots available, community members showed appreciable interest in the initiative when call for applications were opened.

We are excited about the prospects of the project already. While the rollout of Kiwix installation in Senior High Schools is slated for the entire duration of the year, we have already visited two schools so far and that makes for an average number of three hundred and seventy-five (375) students.

We’re grateful for an amazing year. Even more excited about the prospects of the coming year. We look forward to doing more and taking a step further to our vision of a well represented Africa on the Web, among other things.
