I wrote an article for a Japanese web magazine “ENGLISH JOURNAL.” In that article, I introduced the Wikimedia movement in Turkey.

First, I introduced the activities of Wikimedia Community User Group Turkey before the 2017 block of Wikipedia in Turkey. Then, I featured the block which continued till 15 January 2020. The cases I mentioned in the article includes news from BBC, statements of Jimmy Wales and Wikimedia Foundation, and activities of Turkish Wikimedians during the block, which are listed up in 2017-2019 reports of the User Group.

In the second half of the article, I introduced the various Wikimedia Movement in Turkey after the block. The activities includes online Jazz editathon, photo contest, collaboration with a sport club, and international conferences! What I emphasized most in the article is student Wikipedia clubs in Turkey, which have implemented unique projects and have a strong tie with Wikimedians in my country Japan.
