♻️ This event is part of the Wikidata Data Reuse Days 2022.
In this session, we will present some applications using Wikidata’s data in the domain of performing arts and visual arts. Each project will be presented in 10 minutes, then we will have some time for discussions and exchange on various themes: How do they retrieve and use Wikidata’s data? What interesting challenges did they encountered on the way? Participants will also have the opportunity to share their favorite tools.
- Footlight, a set of tools used to extract, view and manage metadata about performing arts events for Artsdata. Wikidata items on places, persons and organizations related to these events are used to enrich the metadata.
- Culture inTime, a calendar-like application of contemporary and historical performing arts production information where Wikidata is used as one of the linked data sources to aggregate information about performing arts productions.
- MarionNET.ca is a Canadian project about to merge with the International Portal for Puppetry Art (PAM Le Lab’). Throughout the modelization phases we have used Wikidata and Wikimedia Commons as bridge spaces and identifiers source in order to make sure we would be able to map our data with the European model at deployment time. We will maintain batch dump into the commons as a form of backup and to expand access to our data in the future. Photos of objects will appear on the PAM interface using links from Wikimedia Commons.
- Open Art Browser is an open source and Wikimedia-powered website displaying paintings, drawings, sculptures, architecture, photographs and more from all over the world and from many periods: more than 700,000 artworks, artists, movements, genres, and motifs.
🎥 Important: this session is going to be recorded, and the video will be published on Wikimedia Deutschland’s Youtube channel under the license CC BY SA 4.0 and according to our privacy policy.
