The Eighth DCW Conversation Hour aims to explore the interconnections of books, institutions and Wikipedia. This conversation hour features Laurie Bridges, an Instruction and Outreach Librarian/Professor at the Oregon State University, who has an incredible experience of more than 25 years in instruction, outreach, marketing, and has been serving the OSU since early 2000.
Laurie is a Wikipedian, and the founding member of EveryBookItsReader, a global campaign that aims at every book having an article on Wikipedia. She was a member of the regional grants committee for United States and Canada from 2021 to 2023. She has co-authored Understanding How Students Develop: A Practical Guide for Librarians, and is the editor of 2021 work Wikipedia and academic libraries: a global project.
