Affiliate and community relations in the Wikimedia ecosystem are complex, and the Twelfth DCW Conversation Hour aims to address these complexities. The conversation hour features Tanveer Hasan, an important figure in the global Wikimedia movement, who currently serves as the Executive Director at the Centre for Internet and Society (CIS), a major movement partner in the entire South Asian region. Tanveer has formerly worked with the Community Resources Team at the Wikimedia Foundation, where he supported the development of Wikimedia movement in South Asia.

Tanveer’s expertise is not limited to the Wikimedia Ecosystem. He has previously been an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Indian Languages in Higher Education at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), in Mumbai. In the conversation hour, we look forward to learn from his vast experiences and knowledge in order to navigate the complexities around the question: how do affiliates and communities in the Wikimedia world develop and prosper together?
