Wikipedia Town – Walking, researching and writing Otsuchi-cho

Wikipedia Town is an initiative to write information on cultural assets and tourist attractions in the region for the internet encyclopaedia Wikipedia. In this event, two lecturers familiar with Wikipedia will be invited to try their hand at everything from research to writing articles for publication on Wikipedia.

The setting of the event is Yamanaka Onsen Otsuchi-cho in Kaga City, a satoyama village located in the innermost part of the Kaga Higashigaya (Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings). Although it once prospered from the coal industry, in recent years it has been depopulated and is now a marginal settlement with a population of just one person. Why not take a walk around Otsuchi and write about your findings in Wikipedia?
