Conversation with Trustees

The Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees’ Community Affairs Committee (CAC) is hosting a conversation with members of the Board of Trustees (formerly called an Office Hour), which is an open forum for the community to directly engage with Trustees. Join us on October 20, 2021 at 11:00 UTC (check for your local time). 

During the meeting, you will: 

  • Meet the candidates nominated through the latest community-selection process to the Wikimedia Foundation’s Board of Trustees
  • Learn about Board Committees’ work
  • Engage through a Q & A session (partly pre-sent, and partly live).   

Agenda

The meeting will last for 90 minutes. 

The first 40 minutes will include a short introduction to the session, and an update on what the Board has been working on lately.

It will be followed by 50 minutes of Questions & Answers: around 20-30 minutes of answering questions sent in advance, and an additional 20-30 minutes of live questions

A more detailed agenda of the Q & A section will be updated here and on Meta 3 days before the meeting, after all questions sent in advance are compiled.

How to join

You can register by writing to the askcac@wikimedia.org email address. “Registration for the October 20 conversation with the Board of Trustees”. Please include your name, username, affiliation and whether you will require live translation. 

You can also join us live, as the meeting will be streamed and available on-demand. 

Those who registered will receive the link to the meeting an hour before the session. 

A link to watch live (or later) will be available on this page at least one day before the meeting.

Submit your questions

We look forward to talking about some of the issues that concern our community right now. We’d like to invite you to submit questions via askcac@wikimedia.org in advance. This will help us understand the topics that most interest you and aggregate questions, as well as consult relevant staff members, so we can offer the most updated and concrete answers. 

Please submit your questions by the end of Wed, October 13 (a week before the session),  which is also the deadline for requesting live translation (a minimum of 5 people is required to approve live translation to any requested language). Please use the subject line “Questions for the October 20 conversation with the Board of Trustees” to help our email support staff identify them. 

Our goal is to engage with as many of these questions as we can.
